Easter Sunrise Service – March 31, 2024 At 6:30 AM
Please join us this Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at 6:30 AM as Historic Jessops Church joins with our community to celebrate the resurrection of Christ! This family-friendly event starts at 6:30 AM inside Jessops Church and will conclude with a hymn and prayer outside, weather permitting. Our historic Church will be open for tours after the service. The service runs between 30 and 45 minutes.
Coming to worship on Easter Sunday morning at an hour and place different than you normally do, offers a sense that something unexpected has happened. Where there appeared to be no hope, there is now hope. Where there was death, there is now Resurrection! Invite your friends, family and neighbors to join you as we celebrate together on Easter morning at 6:30 AM at 14021 York Road in Sparks Maryland.
Bluegrass Concert – Saturday April 27, 2024 – The Mayo Family Band – 4:00 PM – Free Event
“The Mayo Family Band is a local Maryland bluegrass band featuring brothers George Mayo (guitar/vocals) and Bill Mayo (bass/vocals), Bill’s daughter (George’s niece) Talbot Mayo Rozelle (fiddle/vocals), and friends who are more like family, Michael Columbus (mandolin/vocals) and George Lock (banjo). Brothers George and Bill have been singing together as long as they can remember and when the next generation came along, they encouraged and inspired a love of music in them, too. Talbot grew up listening to and learning from the two brothers and other family members joined as they’d “pick” the nights away and eventually, after trying out the jug and the washboard, picked up the fiddle. The trio was blessed to cross paths with fellow pickers George Lock and Michael Columbus many years ago, and the group has spent countless days and nights piling into the “band bus,” (a Dodge pick-up truck), and doing what the love — sharing a few tunes and a lot of smiles with so many wonderful, kind folks across the region. Between the old-time blood harmonies, toe-tapping good time tunes, and more laughs than you’d expect, you’re guaranteed to have almost as much fun as this band!”

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service – Tuesday December 24, 2024
At Historic Jessops Church, Christmas Eve is a special time where we enjoy the company of family and friends, and we worship together with classic carols, candles and a simple message to remind us of the majesty of Christ. As our world groans in waiting for the return of our Savior, Christmas Eve reminds us that He has already come and the victory has already been won—the baby in the manger now sits on His throne!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
No matter who you are, you are welcome to come and join us for the tradition of Christmas Eve on Tuesday December 24, 2024.
We look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ with you. Please check back here on October 15 for service(s) time.
